PDP plans to compensate aggrieved governorship aspirants

AT last, there are plans to compensate all the aggrieved governorship aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who lost out to the party’s standard bearer, Mr. Ayo Fayose.

The affected gubernatorial aspirants include Senator Gbenga Aluko, Biodun Aluko, Mr. Bisi Omoyeni, Mrs. Modupe Ogundipe, Chief Ropo Ogunbolude, Mr. Peter Obafemi, Mr. Deji Ajayi and Dr Bode Olowoporoku. The name of a former spokesman of Yoruba socio ?political organisation, Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has been penciled down for a ministerial position allotted to the state.


During the meeting, it was gathered that one of the aggrieved aspirants was said to have expressed resentment over the assurances given by the leadership of the party that they would be adequately compensated.

On the possibility of getting back the N11,000 nomination fees, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, was said to have told the aspirants that the issue of nomination fee goes beyond his power as the money is non-refundable.


He, however, assured like the president that each member would be compensated based on his individual contributions to the success of the candidate at the polls.
