The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic party in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, attacked the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the comment made by him in Osun State, credited to him that there shall be no legal procedure but jungle justice should the election in Osun, Ekiti be rigged.
This was contained in a statement signed by Omisore’s Director, Media and Strategy, Prince Diran Odeyemi. He referred to Tinubu’s statement as inciting and uncivil, and expressed disappointment that such comment could come from someone of his position.
Omisore condemned the statement saying “the statement in its entirety is highly condemnable and I wonder why the so- called national leader of a party will choose an ivory tower to incite people against one another.
“We can understand the frustration of Mr. Tinubu and why he is calling for anarchy. It is simply because a particular judge is no more on the bench to do his bidding and that of his co-travellers, that is why he is calling for anarchy,” Omisore remarked.
According to him: “It is unthinkable that in spite of blood-letting by Boko Haram when all hands should be on deck to solve this menace, a party leader will be calling for shedding of more blood.”
Advising Tinubu, he said “If Tinubu truly wants free and fair election as he wanted people to believe in Osun State, why are his party and people defending Akeju that he should be retained in Osun despite the fact that it has been proven that the controversial Osun REC is a card-carrying member of the APC?”
Omisore advised security agencies to be ready to stop any act of desperation from any politicians during the August 9 governorship election as it draws near. He stressed that: “if a national leader of the APC is saying his party should take laws into its hands and roast people in the name of seeking redress, then the evil that will be perpetrated by his supporters can be better imagined.”
"I understand Tinubu"s frustration; he no longer have judges in his pocket" - Omisore
