More facts emerged yesterday on why President Goodluck Jonathan fired his political adviser, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak.
As disclosed by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, Gulak was sacked for his arrogance and alleged irrational disposition.
The party chairman disclosed this on Wednesday while playing host to selected members of the Akwa-Ibom State executive committee of the PDP.
He added that he supports Jonathan that there would be no space for arrogant officials in the federal cabinet, adding that for them to remain in the cabinet, they must remain focus and committed.
Ahmed Gulak was fired on Tuesday with immediate effect without reasons by the Federal Government.
A source in the presidency, earlier disclosed to the press that President Jonathan was fed up with Gulak’s way of talking, adding that he made problem with some top PDP governors who asked the President to call him to order.
The former political adviser travelled to Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State to inaugurate the Goodluck Support Group last week with some PDP faction in the state.
It was gathered that Gulak’s visit didn’t go down well with the state governor, Godswill Akpabio, saying that he was completely oblivious of the former Presidential aide’s visit.
The governor also alleged that Gulak held meeting with the party faction in the state who he said were against his administration.
Akpabio therefore, appealed to the President to call his political aide to order for undermining him and his supporters, and for inaugurating the GSG without involving him as the Governor of the state.
Speaking with the delegation from Akwa Ibom, the Party Chairman stressed that there will be no automatic ticket for contestants of political office, adding that he was no in the position to help anybody secure automatic ticket.
