Lai Mohammed hails Jonathan for suspending Adamawa rally

The All Progressives Congress, APC has commended the suspension of the rally scheduled to be held in Adamawa State today (Tuesday) by the People Democratic Party, PDP due to the current mood of the country, including the abduction of the 234 school girls in Chibok, Borno State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in Lagos, yesterday. He said that the suspension was a right decision considering the present circumstances.

He added that for President Jonathan to suspend the rally shows that he has started listening to the voices of his compatriots on important issues in the country.

He said “As we said in a statement we issued on April 24, it smacks of insensitivity, inhumanity and indecency for our President and other leaders to be engaged in any celebratory venture when we do not yet know the fate of the school girls who were abducted from their school and taken to an unknown destination.

‘’We also said the President should not repeat the same mistake he made by flying to Kano to dance at a political rally even as the smoke was yet to clear from the scene of the Nyanya bus park bombing. We are delighted that good sense has prevailed this time,’’ APC said.
