He told the Monarch that TIN was introduced by the Joint Tax Board (JTB) in collaboration with the 36 States Boards of Internal Revenue for the purpose of eliminating all the ills associated with tax system in Nigeria.

He maintained that the introduction of the TIN has been able to minimize the touting activities and forgery in the revenue system.

Speaking on the development, the Esere of Benin Kingdom, Chief Stanley Omoregie Obawonyi, described the TIN registration process as impressive.

As a dynamic and indefatigable Chairman of the Internally Generated Revenue for Edo state, he has brought the appropriate machine to capture the Omo N’Oba as a tax payer in Edo State”, stated Chief Obawonyi.

He urged the taxpayers to be spurred by the exercise, adding: ‘’We all know that the dynamic comrade governor has been doing well and he needs more money to develop the state”.
