Buhari shuns Tinubu, appoints Bakare to head transition committe

By Kelly Amos, Naija Center News

There is an indication that the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari has shunned the party National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has appointed the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare as head of his presidential transition team ahead of the May 29, 2015 handover by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the incoming President.

A member of the All Progressives Congress, Kayode Ogundamisi revealed this development through his media account.

According to Breaking Times report, the move did not go down well with Tinubu who always frown at what the source described as Pastor “Bakare’s inflexible approach to politics”

According to report, Mr. Ogundamisi quickly made a uturn on his statement as the news filtered around on the social media. He said “Corrected: I am informed @ThisisBuhari appointed Pastor Tunde Bakare “as a member of those to screen nominees into transition committee.”

The confusing part of Ogundabisi edited post is what would make Gen. Buhari appoint a committee to screen another committee for a ceremonial handover event?

According to a YNaija report, “the transitional committee is expected to work with incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in handing over notes and taking care of administrative activities prior to the official handing over of government to Buhari.”

NAIJA CENTER NEWS could recall that Pastor Bakare was the running mate of Buhari during the presidential elections of 2011.
