While the observers commend the process and conduct of the election, residents said victory of Aregbesola was an indication of true democracy.

The streets of Osogbo, capital of Osun State, became boisterous with activities after the August 9, governorship polls, with almost no trace of the deployed security personnel.

Commercial activities were in top gear even as civil servants were seen going about their daily activities at the state secretariat at Abere.

Some residents told Channels Television that the people had made their choice in the re-emergence of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The people spoke on their expectations from the government now that anticipated poll was over, with full resumption of business activities. They expressed hopes that Governor Aregbesola’s second term in office would consolidate on the previous achievements which made him enjoy the solidarity of the Osun people as seen in the result of the Osun election.
