The chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has enjoined the Nigerian Youths especially the youths in the State to channel their energies to meaningful and productive engagements and eschew all manner of violence from their lifestyle.
The chairman made this appeal in his goodwill message to the Rivers youths in commemoration of this year’s International Youth Day Celebration.
While commending the Rivers youths for their understanding and patience in the face of lack of conscious and deliberate policy by the Amaechi administration to provide for, and equip them for the ever increasing social and economic demands of daily living, the PDP chairman, Bro Felix Obuah said the future is still bright for the youths because the days of self-seeking and winner-takes-all government are numbered in the State.
As leaders of tomorrow according to the PDP chairman, the present predicament of Rivers Youths should only strengthen their sense of history so that they know who to avoid and who to relate with, in the task of transforming the State even ahead of 2015 general elections.
The party chairman who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, also wants Rivers youths to be wary of agents of destruction and those responsible for the massive youth unemployment in the State and hunger in the midst of plenty who may want to use them for unholy and ungodly assignments just to actualize their political ambitions.
Stressing the essence of the International Youth Day Celebration, the PDP chairman maintains it’s the responsibility of every responsible government to cater for, provide and create the enabling environment for the youths to thrive and showcase their creativities for a better world but regrets that this has not been the case in Rivers State under Governor Amaechi, despite the huge resources the State is endowed with, describing it as unfortunate.
