Breaking: Boko Haram takes over police academy in Borno

By Ehi Ekhator, Naija Center News

The dreaded Islamist terrorists popularly known as Boko Haram has taken over a police training academy, Liman Kara college, in the Northern part of Nigeria since on Wednesday.

According to BBC who reported the incident,  shots were heard after the militants arrived the station in three armoured vehicles and dozens of motorcycles.

A senior security source and a police spokesman confirmed the attack, adding that they have found it difficult to contact the academy since on Wednesday.

The Police college is close to Guoza town which was earlier seized by the sect this month.

Though Nigerian military had said they were winning the war against terrorism, it seems the problem is escalating since they succeeded in pushing the insurgents out of the main town of Maiduguri.
