Breaking: Manchester United announces Louis Van Gaal as new coach

English Premier League club, Manchester United, have unveiled Dutchman, Louis Van Gaal, as their new manager.

The former manager, David Moyes, was sacked towards the end of the season after less than a year on the job.

Moyes succeeded long-serving Alex Ferguson as coach.

Van Gaal was appointed on a three-year deal and has vowed to “make history” at the club.

His previous jobs include spells with Ajax, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. He won the domestic title with each of those clubs and also with AZ Alkmaar.

Van Gaal, current coach of the Netherlands, is to resume in July after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He is to be assisted by Ryan Giggs.
