Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commiserated with the publisher of Thisday Newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena, on the death of his brother, Prince Rotimi Azubuike Obaigbena.
Oshiomhole, in a condolence letter to the media chief, was quoted to have expressed shock at the passing away of Prince Azubuike, whom he said rendered “selfless service” to the development of Delta State, through his profession.
He described the late prince’s death as a painful loss, at a time when he was needed most by his family, adding that he would “definitely be missed” by friends, associates, colleagues and all those whose lives he had positively touched in one way or the other.
The governor, however, prayed God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss.
The statement read, “I learnt with great shock and grief about the passing of your brother. I offer the condolences of the good people and Government of Edo State, as well as my personal commiseration and sincere sympathy over his demise.
“His death is also definitely not only a big loss to you, the Royal Family of Owa Kingdom and the people of Owa, but the entire people of Delta State and the nation at large.
“We, however, take consolation in the fact that the late Rotimi Azubuike lived an inspired and fulfilled life by his selfless service and manner he deployed his professional expertise towards the development of Delta State.
“I pray to Almighty God to receive his soul with Love, Mercy and Forgiveness. We also pray Almighty God to give you, his precious wife and the larger royal family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of such a young man.”
