Contrary to a report by Sahara Reporters that a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC was shot by the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Dr. Olubunmi Olusola – Eleka, some alleged APC thugs attacked the Deputy governor’s convoy with stones after being tricked.
The thugs were stationed along Odo Oja ARea in Ikere Ekiti to ambush him.
Speaking with NAIJA CENTER NEWS concerning the speculations, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Fayose, Mr. Idowu Adelusi explained that “The Deputy Governor received a call that card reader machines in some polling booths were not functioning.
“Dr Olubunmi decided to visit the polling booths based on the reports but at Odo Oja Area, some APC thugs who apparently had been stationed there to cause violence in Ikere welcomed the Deputy Governor’s convoy with stones and the security attached to him had to shoot in the air to disperse the hoodlums.
“We are amazed at lies being circulated in the media by the APC that an APC member was shot by the Deputy Governor’s security. The security agents posted for the election saw what happened.
“The surname of APC is lies and that is why it can never win this election. APC should go and warm up for 2019″
