Atiku vows to remain in APC

Former vice president and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar has said that his commitment to the APC and the success of its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the party in the 2015 general election is unwavering and never been up for bargaining.

The former vice president made the assertion against the backdrop of reports in a section of the media of his purported return to the fold of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“I remain irrevocably committed to the APC, as I promised in my concession speech at the conclusion of our party’s presidential primaries, and has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of our great party at the general elections,” the former vice president is quoted to have said.

Osinbajo Parleys With Christian Leaders

The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Prof Yemi Osibanjo yesterday had parley with Christian leaders from across Taraba State, urging for their support in the March 28 polls to bring change in the country.

Speaking at the Unity House in Jalingo, Osibanjo told the Christian leaders that time had come for them to vote honest and truthful people to power without any religious sentiment, saying “when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice”.

He noted that high level of corruption in the country today had stifled development in various sectors of the economy and has also contributed to the festering insecurity witnessed across the country.

According to him, the value of Nigeria’s currency has continued to depreciate over the years due to the depletion of the country’s external reserve.
