The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has referred to the accusation earlier made by the All Progressives Congress, APC, as misleading and false.

In a statement published by NAIJA CENTER NEWS on Sunday, the APC alleged that the PDP in the State is planning to arrest Dakuku Peterside and some of its party leaders during election.

Responding to the allegation, the party said the story is completely unfounded and misleading, adding that there is no truth in it.

“The story exists only in the mind of Mr. Davies Ikanya and Mr. Eze Chukwuemeka, professional alarmists and liars”

“The PDP is not planning to arrest any member of the APC and will not also plan to arrest anyone. The PDP is not the police and cannot do the work of the police.

“The PDP’s major interest now is how to sweep the polls during the general elections and roundly disgrace the APC.

“PDP’s interest is not how to arrest Dakuku Peterside or any other APC member.  Dakuku Peterside is not a threat to our victory.  APC is also not a threat to the PDP’s victory in the State.

“Therefore, we cannot waste our time plotting to arrest those referred by the APC themselves in their own Press release as ANTS.

“PDP will not and cannot arrest ANTS to win elections, because ANTS have no electoral value and cannot be voted for.

“The PDP has never considered Dakuku Peterside as a credible and saleable  candidate that can stand our governorship candidate, Barr Nyesom Wike in the coming governorship election.

“Dakuku Peterside is not running election. He is fronting for Rotimi Amaechi.

“We wish to state that some members of the APC are kidnappers, cultists, murderers etc and if they have committed any crime against the State, they must be arrested by the police accordingly.

“Nobody is above the law. Nobody can hide under the toga of a political party to kill, steal and kidnap people. ” PDP said.

The party added that some members of the APC shot and killed two members of the PDP on Sunday, and Chief Nyesom Wike’s rally was attacked in Etche by alleged APC supporters.

It said  “Just yesterday night, two leaders of the PDP were shot dead by members of the APC in Rivers State, led by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Akuku-Toru Local Government Council.

Last week, the governorship campaign rally of the PDP was attacked in Etche by APC supporters led by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Etche Local Government Council”
