The unfolding scenarios since after the postponement of February 14, 2015 election are getting increasingly interesting. I have watched various unfolding dramas between the two major opposition parties PDP and APC respectively. Those who still have their conscience and sense of judgment intact will agree with me that APC selling point is “PROPAGANDA and LIES” and PDP selling point is “JUDGE ME FOR WHAT I HAVE DONE,”I WILL DO MORE”. In the developed democracy where people are using their heads correctly it will not too difficult to know where the pendulum of 2015 is swinging to. But we have two major problems in this country namely religious sentiments and tribalism which our politicians exploit from time to time. In the absence of these two weak points, it is very clear that 2015 is the year to move forward and not to experiment a Retrogressive change or change to an unknown direction.
Recently I watched an interview granted to the presidential candidate of APC, in one of his response he used this phrase “the end justifies the means”. Those with strong moral value have a different view about that. They believe that both the means and the end should emerge from the foundation of justice, integrity and fairness. The reason is because if the source of water is polluted, the water itself cannot be said to be clean. The present government has created an enabling environment for democracy to thrive and we cannot take it from them. Nigeria media today appears the freest in the whole world. Before you exclaim I want you to know that most of what this government has tolerated on the media in Nigeria cannot be accepted even by American and European government especially our approach to the issue of insurgency. Any western media that took the sides that some of our Nigerian media took on boko-haram insurgency would be under serious investigation and suspicion and possible clampdown. Some of their reportage on the insurgency lacks spirit of patriotism.
I am beginning to take GMB’s comment that “the end justifies the means” seriously because of the recent developments. APC has promise to end insurgency in few months if they win election but have refused to tell Nigerians how they are going to achieve that and also what they have contributed in the past four years as Nigerians to end boko-haram insurgency, bearing in mind that they are part of the executives and legislators in this government. But it is on record that when American government objected selling arms to Nigeria and our government resorted to black market, it was APC legislators who faulted it. If they have succeeded in stopping the government, the gains our soldiers are making on the ground today would have not been possible. The strongest issue APC has presented so far is insecurity and now that boko-haram is almost behind us, I think APC has lost job because they have not presented any strong manifesto on how to move Nigeria forward on economic development, education and infrastructural developments etc.
APC wanted election to be held on February 14th despite all odds against that date. This includes whether INEC was ready or not, if people had collected their PVC or not. It does not matter to them if there is security risk, the number of lives and properties that may be lost means nothing to them.
Fellow Nigerians, it is high time we ask ourselves why APC wants power by all means not putting into consideration any legitimate reasons why certain things can or cannot be done. Now they have taken a stand that the military will not be used for 2015 general elections. Bearing in mind the various political crises, killings and destruction of properties witnessed in the past and currently, is it not foolishness to take such a stand now? Why are they afraid of the military on the Election Days if they are law abiding? Do they want to repeat the killings of our youth corpers and other innocent Nigerians as they did in 2011 election? Do APC mean well for Nigeria at all? Why should election means do or die affairs to APC. It is a fact that APC leaders up till now has not made any categorical statement to their members to keep peace, law and order, except those which they were compelled by the press interviewers to rehearse. This is worrisome.
I have followed most of the statements from APC spokes persons and have discovered that they are either lies or propagandas. A party built on falsehood and standing on a faulty foundation, based on the antecedents of their major party leaders is not what Nigerians need at this point in time. Imagine the recent publication of their leader’s purported interview in London which has turns out to be a past interview in Abuja. Where are we going from here? A lie is an indication that truth is hidden somewhere. What are they hiding from us? Whenever they presumed a failure on their plot they resort to propaganda. Buhari and APC failed to honor presidential debate in Nigeria, an opportunity to address the voters, now they have gone to Uk citizens and government. Where is Buhari’s loyalty? It is on record that the British government rigged the first Nigeria election in 1963 in favor of a non competent hand so as to maintain their economic control and manipulation on Nigeria which we are still suffering till today. 2015 election will be solely in the hands of Nigerians and therefore such cannot be allowed to repeat.
It is now clear to all that the postponement of 2015 election is a blessing in disguise because it would have been the worst election conducted in Nigeria so far. INEC wasn’t ready for the election even till now but Prof. Jega has refused to accept blame. We thank God for the extension, this country would have being in chaos because of the outcome of the election. Evil does not stand the test of time because it is abnormal. It disturbs my mind so much that some Nigerians cannot see that Goodluck Jonathan has set a record as the best president Nigeria has ever had.
Building 12-14 federal universities within a space of time, Reconstructing our all our airports to meet international standard, Rehabilitating 25,000 out of 30,000 kilometers of our federal roads, built 124 schools to take the alamajiri children out of the street so as to become useful to themselves, our farmers can testify that they have hope of making it through agriculture in few years from now. They can purchase fertilizers and other agricultural equipments directly without middle men that have being exploiting them. Is it politics to say that our railways are getting back on track to enhance land transportation? New dames have been constructed to boost dry season farming and to address water problems. Construction of second Niger Bridge is on course. The dredging of Calabar wharf is ongoing to boost economic activities. Nigerian youths have seen various opportunities being opened for their future. You- win and graduate internship program and other scholarship opportunities. Power has been privatized to address the challenges of power supply which all past governments has failed to achieve. It is a question of time before we begin to enjoy its benefit satisfactorily. Yes, it is difficult now but I am hopeful. There are numerous fundamental issues that this government has done. What will happen to confab decisions which aims at restructuring this country for better if we vote against GEJ. Your guess is as good as mine. What strong reason does any Nigerian citizen has to vote against GEJ. I hear you say corruption. Which government has tackled corruption more honestly and sincerely than this present government? Let me ask us a question, what is a better choice, to keep on running after a thief every time or to properly secure your property from being stolen? A tout (Agboro) will prefer the former but an intelligent person will opt for the later. This is the reason why polices has been put in place to stop stealing. The IPPPS will not allow fund to be stolen or misappropriated easily. There is almost no room for ghost workers. Our institutions for checking corruptions like EFCC, ICPC, Code of conduct etc are getting stronger and more independent. They are no longer arms of government in power to intimidate their political opponents. Opposition does not only have their say now but also their way. Tenets of democracy are getting stronger not on its own but because someone created the enabling environment for democracy to thrive. By the grace of God, everyone can agree with me that insurgency of book-haram will soon be behind us. Our military are now better equipped more than ever. The Navy, Air force and the Army have been improved arms and trainings.
The achievements of this administration cannot be exhausted in this brief write-up. Moreover I am not in PDP so as to know details of their achievements but I am provoked by the truth and reality I have seen as a concerned Nigeria. You cannot deny what your eyes have seen. It will be unfair if we fail to appreciate these gains and make terrible mistake. I am sure God will not forgive us but by this write up, I feel relieved that I will be spared if it happens, but Nigerians will not make the costly mistake of voting against progress.
I call on our brothers and sisters from North to drop religious and ethnic sentiments and appreciate the president who has done them well. I also call on our brothers and sisters from the West (Yoruba nation) to know how important this election is for the future of Nigeria and return GEJ, otherwise they will live to blame themselves for thwarting a golden opportunity for restructuring this country. Those from the South-east and south-south should know that Jacob’s porridge do not go without irredeemable cost. Thank God once again for the postponement. Nigerians can now make a clear choice on March 28, on whom to give their mandate and future trust for the next four (4) years.
The devil is a liar and a murderer from the beginning and “when he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and father of lies. John 8:44.
MAY GOD ALMIGHTY DELIVER NIGERIANS FROM THE SPIRITS OF LIES AND DELUSION. AMEN
In view of all these developments, I can confidently say that “God is a Nigerian despite all odds”. God bless Nigeria!
