PDP is rejected and will stand rejected – Rivers APC

Hon. Dakuku Peterside, All Progressives Congress have been held responsible by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State over the attack on the former Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike on Thursday.

Others accused by PDP are the caretaker Committee Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Council and the immediate past Executive Chairman of the Council, Udi Udom.

Wike found himself fighting to escape bullets when he was attacked by a group of gunmen who the PDP said are members of the All Progressives congress.

Attacks, destruction, physical harm have increased since Peterside and Wike started the governorship race in Rivers State which will be held in 2016.

Initially, Peterside was accused of being a member of a dreaded cult, while Wike was accused of joining the Ogboni fraternity in order to secure his governorship position.

In a statement by the State Party Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah and signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, made available to NAIJA CENTER NEWS, the PDP said evidence abound that the gunmen were specifically directed to disrupt the PDP campaign rally, stressing that prior to the attack, the APC supporters had exhibited act of rascality and violence against its supporters across communities in Abolga.

Due to the increasing violence and attacks in Rivers State, the PDP Chairman pooh-pooh the non-violence pact signed by the two Presidential candidates,  General Muhammadu Buhari and the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, adding that the APC was only pretending because it has never believed in free and fair elections.

Prince Obuah further queried how the immediate past chairman of Abolga, Udi Udom knew those behind the violence were cult members belonging to Icelanders and Greenlanders as he publicly claimed on radio about two hours after the incident if he was not the mastermind of the attack and what he did to forestall the unfortunate incident.

Obuah appealed to the police and other law enforcement agencies to beam their searchlight on Mr. Udom and his cohorts in the APC, and demand that Mr. Udom be invited by the Police for interrogation over the attack on Chief Wike’s campaign team and ensure that all those involved are fished out and brought to book.

Meanwhile, the SSA Media and Public Affair to the State Chairman, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who spoke with NAIJA CENTER NEWS on phone said their lives (APC members) are no longer safe.

He was responding to questions from this medium concerning the attack on a ward chairman, Mr. Kingsley Emenike, attacked by suspected political thugs who the APC claimed are members of the PDP.

Eze said “Our lives over here are no longer safe as we are battling with beasts in hform who are desperate to capture power without respect to the feelings of the people of Rivers State, but we will not give up until the will of our people are respected. PDP is rejected and will stand rejected for ever in Rivers State.”
