Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday during a thank you visit to the Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)‎ state secretariat, Ilorin, for their support during the successful  hosting of the just concluded Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) presidential campaigns in the state, Abubakar said: “It is disheartening that it is only in Nigeria (that) some people will insult president of the country without  any decorum”.

According ‎to him,” this ugly situation portends a serious threat to the growth of democracy in the country and this should be adequately changed in order to move the nation forward”.

He said that, “What the nation is experiencing in this kind of attitude by some politicians who will be assaulting President Goodluck Jonathan without any reason to do it must be re-examined and changed in the bid to protect the nation’s presidency”.

Abubakar added, “You could see that the just concluded rally in Kwara was based on issues and Mr. President had made sure that he touches on all what he had been able to do since assumption of office”.

He also insisted that the present administration under President Goodluck Jonathan had helped in no small means the university of Ilorin, in kwara state to be the best in nigeria saying that the credit should not only go to the university alone.

The minister also ‎ hinted that N2B is also waiting for the kwara state government to be assessed for the purpose of helping the micro, small and medium scale industrialists across the state.

Dr Abubakar also dismissed claims that the fundings from the presidency for the just concluded presidential campaign had caused crisis in the party.

“It is normal to receive donations from the presidency for campaign like this, but I can tell you authoritatively that there was no rancor among members of the party over any money.‎ Whatever anybody is saying about that is not true, “he said
