An Abuja based Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Friday Ojealaro has sued the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) over his refusal to declare his certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the February 14 Presidential general election.

According to the suit, In the event, Buhari failed to satisfactorily present statutorily prescribed educational qualifications to INEC, the APC candidate, by the order of The Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja, be disqualified from contesting the 2015 Presidential election.
The suit also state that if Buhari is disqualified from the race, the court should stop the APC from fielding a replacement.
Buhari had been lambasted by the PDP and many Nigerians to declare his certificate for weeks. The General had said his certificates were with the Miliatary Board, which was denied by the military.
APC later released a statement, saying Ibrahim Babangida carted its candidate’s credentials away during the coup in 1980s.
Buhari had addressed journalists quoting his examination number, adding that the PDP were using the certificate saga to distract attention, knowing fully well that he has his qualifications, yet without declaring it to the INEC.
