Following the worry of potential incursion of Boko Haram sect into Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service yesterday arrested a Chinese national for wandering capital .
The incident which was noticed by Saturday Vanguard occurred at MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Two of the Immigration officers, having noticed the Chinese man clutching on to a cellophane bag containing some unknown objects and strolling aimlessly across the place, apprehended the person.
During his arrest, the Immigration officers accosted him, inquired about his mission which he couldn’t clarify apparently as a result of his incapacity to express himself in English language.
Rather than cooperating with the immigration personnel after flashing their id card the clearly fraustrated Chinese put up a stiffer resistance, beat one of many officers and tried to run away for worry of being arrested.
The development, which drew the attention of members of the public in the area however, provoked the Immigration officials who put up a call across to their Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta office from where other officers came and whisked the man away for further interrogation.
