Kwankwaso, Amaechi Presidential campaign posters flood Kano

As the general election scheduled to be held in early 2015 draws near, more politicians are coming out from their hidings, signifying interest in different positions.

An intimidating and colourful presidential campaign posters of the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and his political colleague, the Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso flooded Kano State yesterday.

The Pastors were posted at different strategic commercial hubs, Ibrahim Taiwo road, Zaria road, Gyadi Gyadi overhead bridges, Gidan Murtala by Kano Technical College Highway, Overhead bridges and Maiduguri road.

Those responsible for the expensive and colourful posters could not be ascertained.

But a city dweller, Mallam Sani Adamu who responded to the issue said “this is a welcome development in a democracy, at least it create options to the citizens.” Adamu stated, “I assured the duos of my support because they have done better in their respective states, like here in Kano, everybody can attest to the fact that Kwankwaso is the architect of modern Kano”.

Responding to the development, Special Assistant to Kwankwaso, Malam Hashimu said that the governor is not responsible for the posters but added that it is democracy, people are free to identify with their role models.

Hashimu said, “As at today, old Kwankwaso is the best material for presidency come 2015. He is the man Dungurawa explained that the Governor and his River state counterpart would be the best ticket in 2015 presidential election, while appealing to the party stakeholders and delegates to vote for duo during the forthHe disclosed that Kano people are solidly supporting Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso aspirations  to contest the Presidential ticket in 2015, stressing that “we would go round the country to campaign for them”.
