Chibok: FG warns politicians against jeopardizing rescue mission

FEDERAL Government, weekend, warned politicians in the country against politicising issue of terrorism to avoid jeopardising joint efforts of Nigerian and foreign allied forces to rescue the missing girls.

Federal Government Republic of NigeriaThe Coordinator of the National Briefing Centre, Mike Omeri gave the warning while briefing newsmen on the update on security matter in Abuja.

He said “Efforts are ongoing by the Nigerian Troops and the Foreign Allied Forces to secure the release of our daughters, sisters and future mothers who were abducted in Chibok.

“I wish to advise all politicians, whether advisory or not to be wary of how they play politics with the issue of terrorism as this could hamper efforts on ground to bring them home.”

He explained that there is a positive correlation between Nigerian and Allied troops, as their roles are entirely complementary.

On the extradition of Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, one of the mastermind of the April 14 Nyanya bombing, Omeri said the processes would soon be completed and the public will be kept abreast of the matter.

He also said that N25 million has been set aside for anyone who can give useful information on how to capture the remaining suspect of April 14 Nyanya bombing, Abubakar Tsiga.

Omeri also debunked the proposed visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Chibok and enjoined the public to be wary of carriers of false and misleading information.

According to him, “I woke up this morning with the news of Mr. President’s proposed visit to Chibok. That information is misleading and it is not within the purview of NIC to report presidential matters.
