Vigilante group of Nigeria Borno State have raised an alarm over the continuous killing of their men by the members of Boko Haram and the total neglect of federal government towards the fight.
Leader, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mr. Husman Jahun, who spoke with journalists in Abuja revealed that 118 of his men have lost their lives to the insurgents including five that were killed near Chibok today (Saturday)
He said that the militant came in military uniforms and attack a village about 9km from Chibok in a sport utility and military vehicles.
He said ”We lost 118 of our men to Boko Haram in this country, especially in the North Eastern Region. And as i said earlier on during my speech, just now they called me that we lost five of our men in Chibok and they are still fighting with them, so it is an unfortunate situation”
He accused the federal government of not coming to their aids in terms of funds.
He said ”And all these while, nobody is coming to our aids, nobody is supporting us, nobody is helping us, they are killing them and their families are suffering. The commander, Borno State is here, we told him to come so that we can know what’s happening in Borno State, let us see how we can assist the federal government; but what’s the federal government doing to us? If they don’t want us to work, good and fine! I believe this country we own it, all of us, it is our country, whether we like it or not, we have to come together, assist the security agencies and fight against what’s happening today in this our country”
A member of the vigilante group, Ahmed Dalhatu, said that the group do not have support or whatsoever. He urged the members of the public who could not support physically or materially to add them in their prayers.
”Our own problem here now is lack of fund, lack of total support, we need moral support from members of the public. If you cannot support us physically or materially, pray for us, pray for the nation, in order to see that peace and security prevail
