Bamidele, Fayose, Fayemi"s comments about Ekiti election

Though many politicians complained of the security situations in Ekiti State due to the election, the three major contenders of the governorship position, Opeyemi Bamidele of the Labour Party, LP, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Ayodele Fayose, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Kayode Fayemi have different views.

The three candidates confirmed that they stayed indoors until it was time for them to cast their votes as directed by the security operatives. Meanwhile, the LP candidate, Bamidele revealed that the election has been fair, while Fayemi complained of the attitudes of security operatives and Fayose said his winning is in the hands of God as he has done everything he needed to do during the campaign.

Mr. Fayose said ”Money in this game will destroy so many things and destroy our future. For me, i have remained in my house and i have left everything to God. Which ever way it goes, i have taken it as every good gifts come from God almighty. I have put in my best in the campaign, and i will now leave the rest to God”

While complaining about the securities, the APC candidate, Mr. Fayemi said ”I haven’t been able to get Mr. President, and i also haven’t been able to get his Chief of Staff, i have had course this morning to speak with the Inspector General of Police, not once and not twice, particularly about this Ministers of State who are violating the election procedure.

”I have also had course to speak with the Chief of Army Staff about some untoward activities by his own men on the ground here. But i don’t think it has reached the stage where this should be escalated to the President yet; but i would like to think that the President himself would not want a situation that throws Ekiti in jeopardy”.

Meanwhile the LP candiate, Mr. Bamidele said ”It feels good to be able to participate in an election that will herald me to the office as the next governor of Ekiti State, that is my faith, that is my believe and that is my conviction”

I would want to say that so far, the process appears reasonable, and again, my prayer is that what i witness here in my polling unit would be the standard in each, everyone of the 2195 polling unit being used by INEC to conduct this election.
