"I do not any rift against Obasanjo" - Atiku

The former Vice President, Atiku Abuja has said that, though he had disagreement with his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo, he doesn’t have keep secret malice against him.


Atiku who stated that ”politics is not a war’ declared that he ad opponents but not enemies in politics.


He disclosed this during the declaration in Abuja when the leaders of the Northern Youth Leaders Forum recently embarked on a atikumission to merge the wall between Atiku and Obasanjo.


According to him, “I don’t harbour any grudge against my former boss. Yes, we had disagreements in office. These were mere disagreements. I harbour no hatred or enmity against him or anybody. I never had anything against him and I will never have.”


The group, led by Comrade Eliot Afiyo, had met with Obasanjo two weeks ago where he (Obasanjo) announced that he had forgiven Atiku.


Atiku thanked the group for their effort to bring peace between him and his former boss, adding that the moves is a sign that the youth organisation is full of serious-minded people who are ready to take over leadership of the country from their older ones.


Speaking on the current security problem in Nigeria, Atiku urged the Federal Government to take the problem with all seriousness.


He said: “If we can go to other countries to rid them of these kinds of problems, it shows that we have the capacity to put this one down immediately so that the suffering of the people can be reduced.”


Speaking earlier, the chairman of the group, Comrade Afiyo, described Abubakar as a “honest and forthright leader, a courageous and dogged democrat.
