…Says Action Lays To Rest Selfish Call For His Withdrawal

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, today applauds the national leadership of the party, particularly President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, for doing the needful by duly presenting the Party flag to the  undisputable Governorship candidate, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike, CON.

The State PDP says the presentation of the flag to Wike is a demonstration of the party’s preparedness to overwhelmingly win elections in Rivers State, and recognition of who the cap fits.

The Rivers State PDP is highly honoured with the action of the President which goes further to strengthen the popular opinion of Rivers people, particularly the delegates, as expressed during the PDP State governorship primary, and adoption of the man they so desire as their Governor in 2015.

The Party expresses joy that the presentation of the Governorship flag today to Chief Wike has laid to rest doubt and speculations created by the unfounded, selfish and ill-conceived call by some obscure elders of riverine extraction led by Chief Albert Horsfall on the State’s Guber flag-bearer, Chief Nyesom Wike to withdraw from the race to allow a riverine person step in as flag bearer.

The PDP therefore, calls on all its members, Rivers people and all Nigerians to continue to support the party by voting for all its candidates from the President, the Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship and State House of Assembly during the general elections holding on February 14 and 28, 2015.

The Party again reassures the people that it would deliver on its promise and will not let the people down.
