PDP Consoles PHALGA People Over Chairman’s Death

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter expresses its sympathy to the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area over the shocking death of their Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Charles Paul Ejekwu.

The Party also feels the pains such untimely death would cause the family of the late chairman, wishing them the fortitude to bear such great loss at a time they needed him most.

The PDP however expresses dissatisfaction over the attitude of the State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and his wife, Judith towards the family of the deceased chairman, noting that enough concerns have not been shown by the Governor and his wife over the sad development.

The Party criticises the wife of the Governor who, inspite of the sad event, still went ahead with her series of meetings and tour of the communities in the area, and other Local Government Areas, canvassing support for her husband and the APC.

This, to us is the height of neglect and insensitivity to the unfortunate predicament on the Ejekwu’s family.

It is so sad that rather than giving attention and supporting the family at this time of grieve, the governor’s wife is only interested in squandering unallocated State’s funds on frivolities and image laundering campaigns in parts of the State.

We also condemn the current tour to Sokoto State by the Governor, when his house is on fire
