Fiorentina are not interested in making Modibo Diakite’s loan deal permanent, according to the defender’s agent.
The 27-year-old joined the Italian club on loan from Sunderland in January for the second half of the 2013/14 season.
However, the centre-back failed to make a big impact for La Viola, making only nine appearances in Serie A.
Diakite’s agent has now said that the Frenchman will return to Sunderland for next season.
“Diakite will definitely return to Sunderland after his loan,” Ulisse Savini told calciomercato.it.
“At the moment I have no news from Fiorentina or from other clubs so we are preparing to face the next season with the Black Cats.”
