PDP Berates APC For Rejoicing Over Inko-Tariah’s Resignation

…Says It’s Misplaced

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the rejoicing by the State All Progressives Congress, APC over the resignation of Governor Nyesom Wike’s Special Adviser on Media, Opunabo Inko-Tariah as misplaced and an indication of a party desperately in need of people to strengthen its collapsed party structure.

The State PDP stated this while reacting to unnecessary jubilation by the chairman of APC in the State, Davis Ikanya and the Party’s State Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone respectively.

The PDP said the rejoicing by the APC over Mr. Inko-Tariah’s resignation is an evidence that the Party is shopping for members having been deserted by its former members due to its lack of vision and politics of deception.

Wondering why the Governor’s Special Adviser’s resignation could be a source of joy and cause for celebration to the APC even when the former Special Adviser has nothing to do with the Party, the PDP called it the height of self delusion.

“Not minding the SA’s resignation, the depleted APC can never make up for the mass exodus of its members that decamped to the PDP before the last general elections and since Gov. Wike assumed office.

The jubilation is therefore a mere wishful thinking that exists only in the minds of dreamers which the APC exemplifies.

In fact, since the Wike administration has proved that workers deserve their wages by clearing salary arrears and pensions owed Civil Servants and pensioners in the State by former Governor Rotimi Amaechi including clearing of debts owed players and managements of the two football clubs in the State (Dolphin and Sharks) and offsetting the unpaid fees of students of Rivers State origin under the State scholarship who were at the verge of deportation, the remaining remnants of APC members in the State have joined the PDP.

This is the only reason why the APC in the absence of any other serious engagement is celebrating the voluntary resignation of the Governor’s political aide which is his right,” the PDP noted.
