A Pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church in Egor local government area of Edo State, Rev. Igbinigie Anthony, has told an Egor Chief Magistrate Court how a man who attempted to steal the money realised by the church during its annual thanksgiving was nabbed.

Igbinigie, who spoke during a cross examination at the resumed hearing of the case, said the suspected  thief had severally broken into the church on three previous occasion and made away with cash that is up to N52,000.

The pastor explained that he and the church’s youth president, whose name was given as Okoh, decided to sleep in the church because he had a premonition that the thief would return to steal the thanksgiving collections.

He said the suspect, Ehiosun Junior, who was docked, first broke into the church and made away with N40, 000 after which he asked the church to pray to God to forgive him (the thief).

Junior was arraigned on a four-count charge and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
