The Peoples Democratic Party has asked Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, to declare to the people of the state how much his administration is seeking to get from the bailout package arranged for states by the Federal Government.
The Chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday.
Olaoluwa, who said the governor had failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state unlike what was obtainable in other states controlled by the All Progressives Congress.
The statement read, “Aregbesola should face governance and be accountable because he has plunged the state into untold hardship.
“Aregbesola should come out and tell us how much he wants to take from the bailout loan stressing that he should be ready to tell us how much he will collect, how he intends spending it and on what.
” Aregbesola should also not blame the opposition for falling but to accept the misfortune he has brought to Osun state.”
When contacted the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in Osun State, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, told our correspondent on the telephone that ” we will not dignify them with any answer.”
Meanwhile, Aregbesola, had said in a statement on Sunday that opposition parties are using the financial crisis facing the state to sponsor attacks against him in the media because of his contributions to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In the statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, the governor said although Osun State was not the only state finding it difficult to pay its workers, media attention was focused only on his administration.
