A spokesperson for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode has advised a former governor of Lagos state, Tunde Fashola to beg his former boss, Ahmed Bola Tinubu over his sudden situation.
In a statement posted on his Facebook wall, Fani-Kayode said “Things are getting messier by the day. My advice to Tunde Fashola is to go and make peace with his benefactor, Bola Tinubu, before it is too late.”
Fashola has been swimming in different scandals since the news came up that he is at a loggerhead with Tinubu.
It could be remembered that politicians loyal to Tinubu were absent at Fashola’s book launched few weeks back which confirmed the speculations that it was not all smoochy with the two of them.
Fashola was accused of spending N78.3 million on his personal website, www.tundefashola.com according to the information stated on the website by the procurement department.
The former governor was also accused of spending N139 million on two boreholes which has generated a lot of backlash.
The current state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has been accused of masterminding the situation to humiliate his predecessor.
A Lagos based group, Lagos Indigenes Network Organisation disassociated the governor from the scandal.
The Executive secretary of the group, Fouad Ade-Basorun said Amode had been busy with developmental projects in the state since his inauguration and had no time to tarnish the image of his predecessor.
