All elected officials to be sworn in next month

All elected officials to be sworn-in next month have been urged to deliver on their campaign promises to enjoy the support of the people.


The National Coordinator, League of Voters in Nigeria, Dr. Benedict Kokoiwen, made the call while reacting to the success of the just concluded polls.


While congratulating the newly elected persons on their victories, Dr. Kokoiwen commended those who lost for conceding defeat.


He urged Nigerians to support and encourage their leaders to enable them to succeed in carrying out their responsibilities, expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the 2015 elections which he described as free, fair, credible and peaceful.

Gov. Shema congratulates Masari over victory


The Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, has congratulated the Governor-elect, Aminu Bello Masari over his victory at the polls.


The Governor prayed to God to guide the governor-elect while undertaking the affairs of the State and advised him to regard his victory as an act of God and to carry everybody along.


Alhaji Ibrahim Shema commended the traditional and religious leaders as well as the people of the State for the support given him during his eight years as Governor and to extend same to Masari.


Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that people look to the street to celebrate, following the announcement of the result.
