The good, bad, and the ugly that will follow after impeaching President Jonathan

It is now believed that over 200 honorable members of the House of spectators, pardon me, representatives, and about 60 seat warmers, sorry again, Senators – have signed the impeachment notice against President Jonathan – and ready to be issued to him on third of December next month. The impeachment proceeding against the President is connected with the siege of the national assembly by the Police last week.

Some reports have it that the parliamentarians want to use the threat of impeachment for personal gains. Instead of the parliamentarians to start the impeachment proceeding genuinely, because of corruption or a ” grave violation of the constitution, but they chose to do it for personal gains. For what ever, reason(s), removing Jonathan is good and in good direction.

After thorough analysis of what is going on in Nigeria, I came to conclusion that, impeaching President Jonathan will see and bring the following;

1. The rise up militancy in the Niger Delta: Oil bunkering, pipe lines vanderlism, kidnapping of foreign Oil workers. The likes of Asari, Tompolo will strike again. They will try to undermine the subsequent regime government so as to make things difficult. Already, Dokubu has issued several threats that if Jonathan fail to make it as

President after 2015, there will be violence. It will be recalled Dokubu was arrested in south Africa trying to smuggling arms to Nigerian moron government.

2. The end of insurgency and Boko Haram: this is because, the Likes Of Ihejerika, Modu Shariff will be brought before justice. And the next government will be aggressive in ending the whole thing. Also, if the next leader or Namadi Sambo is committed, the over 8 billion dollars budgeted annually for the defense and security will be use

judiciously.

3. Criminals in the current government will go and brought to justice: the likes of petroleum minister Alison Madukwe, IG of police, the western and IMF finance minister, Stella Oduah, etc will be brought before justice. It will be recalled that Oduah bought two cars of over 250 million naira. Likewise Maina of the pension scam, subsidy

scam, the missing 20 billion dollars etc.

4. The executives will start to respect the parliamentarians: the House of reps has been battling with Jonathan to sack Orumah Eteh of security and exchange commission (SEC) but he refused, if Jonathan is to go, then the national assembly will sack Eteh. Also, the other thousands of recommendations, by the national assembly will be observed. Like wise the state House of assembly can start to muscle their governors.

5. It will further enrich our democracy: that will, because, who ever becomes the next President will know that impeachment exist in Nigerian constitution and is Practicable.

6. Nigeria’s image will be boosted: Jonathan has been embarrassing Nigeria for a long time. He went to UN assembly with 600 people, he was not able to speak in the AU in 2013, etc. If Nigeria is able to get a courageous leader like Murtala Muhammad or Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria’s image will surely be redeemed.

7. Reawakening of Naira: If is impeached, the Naira will reawaken again. This is because, Jonathan has been wasteing our resources incessantly. He spent 30 billion naira annually on the Presidency. Even now that Naira is failing, the government is expected to usher in an austerity measure, but still they are on the spree.

8. Nigeria will continue beyond 2015: with insinuations all over that Nigeria will disintegrate and will not continue beyond 2015, that was because Jonathan and PDP will rig the election. If he is impeached, then that solve all our problem.

The national assembly should move fast and impeach Jonathan. They shouldn’t spare him he deserve to. They should be objective. Let them know Nigerians are waiting and all eyes are on them. Jonathan must go.
