A former dictator and the presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 general elections, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has said that his academic qualifications are with the military.
He disclosed this to the Independent National Electoral Commission when asked to submit his credentials as a procedure for contestants.
Information gathered by journalists revealed that Buhari did not put his credentials on display like President Goodluck Jonathan and other Presidential aspirants in the race.
Instead, Buhari submitted an affidavit dated November 24, 2014, from the High Court of Federal Capital Territory explaining that his certificates are still with the Secretary, Military Board.
The affidavit was stamped and received by INEC on 18 December, 2014.
On the Affidavit, Buhari stated “I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as of the time of presenting this affidavit. The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purpose,”
In a similar situation, the Vice President of Nigeria who is currently a running mate to the President, Goodluck Jonathan also gave an excuse yesterday that his credentials were burnt during a fire incident.
To back up the claim, his university wrote to INEC confirm his claim, adding that he was a student in the university, graduated with Masters as claimed.
