According to information gathered, the insurgents heard the soldiers were in Bulaburin village with staff of the Power Holding company of Nigeria to repair power installation that was destroyed six months ago in Damboa and planned their attack.

Unfortunately, the soldiers got  hint of the information and waited for them, counter them and the insurgents who came in a convoy of Hilux vehicles and motorcycles abandoned battle after loosing reasonable numbers of their men.

According to a PHCN staff, the troop killed at least 75 of the sect. “I am happy today because it would have been a black day for us at Bulaburin. We went to repair Maiduguri electrical infrastructure which had been shut down by militants since July as we were working  we started hearing sporadic gun shots,  so the troops fought back. However, the intense fight affected our vehicles; we drove to Maiduguri on flat tyres” he said.

A source in the security said the troops got a wind of the attack and were fully ready for the sect.

He said  “Our soldiers climbed the telecom mast to see them, and behold they were coming in large numbers in Hilux pick up vans, motorcycles and cars. The soldiers waited for them, and when they came, they attacked them immediately”.
