- PDP Calls For Arrest Of Caretaker Committee Chairman

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has raised an alaarm over the incessant destruction of its billboards, flags, campaign posters, and banners of its Governorship candidate, Barr. Nyesom Wike, in some parts of Rivers State.
A group of hoodlums loyal to All Progressives Congress took the law into their hands over the weekend by destroying things owned by Wike in Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area.
The Special Adviser to the State Chairman on Media, Jerry Needam made the disclosure shortly after visiting the PDP Secretariat and Campaign Office of Barr. Nyesom Wike over the weekend in Bori, to assess the damage carried out by the alleged APC members on the party facilities and campaign materials.
The party accused the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Mr. Gordon Tornwe of masterminding the destruction of several flags, billboards and campaign posters of the party.
Mr. Needam described the act as irresponsible, criminal and provocative, calling on the police to go after Gordon.
The SA urges the ogoni people to continue to resist the APC in the area, adding it does not represent the interest of the people.
Needam advised the party members to be calm, assuring that the Police will bring to book those behind the destruction of its flags, banners and billboards and other items of the Party that have been tampered with by the opponents.
