Amaechi left huge debt burden for Rivers – SSG

THE Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Chief Kenneth Kobani, has accused the immediate past administration of Mr. Rotimi Amaechi of leaving a huge debt burden for the current administration of the Chief Nyesom Wike.

Kobani, who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, specifically said that the former governor left an economically bankrupt state.

Apparently reacting to allegations made by the All Progressives Congress in the state on the Rivers economy, Kobani pointed out that the current governor had ‘diligently’ revived the economy of the state.

The state APC had recently criticized the management of Rivers economy by the state governor, describing it as unacceptable.

But maintaining that Wike worked hard to defray the huge debt and financial obligations left behind by the immediate past APC-led government, the SSG said it was wrong for the opposition party in the state to complain about the state’s economy.

He described allegations on the current state of Rivers economy by the APC as false and baseless, saying, “The indebtedness of the immediate past APC administration in Rivers State is what this administration is still grappling with. These (APC) people are jobless and they just want to hear their voices on radio.
