BENIN—AS the race for Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s successor heats up in Edo State ahead of the 2016 governorship election, a governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Kenneth Imansuangbon, has berated immediate past senator representing Edo Central senatorial district and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Senator Odion Ugbesia, over comments that Esan leaders have ceded the governorship to Edo South.
Ugbesia had during the inauguration of the new PDP secretariat in Benin City, claimed that Esan leaders had ceded the governorship to the Binis.
Reacting, Imansuangbon said: “There was no time or any meeting where Esan leaders met to cede governorship to Edo South. Ugbesia is on his own. People like Ugbesia who are saying this are enemies of Esan people because we never met to cede governorship outside this zone.”
