The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, had in a statement on Saturday said the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) had resolved to reject Zakari’s appointment, alleging a hidden agenda and plot to undermine the integrity of the electoral body.

But Jalo allegedly made a statement considered to be at variance with the decision of the NWC in which he dismissed the rejection of Zakari as Metuh’s opinion and not that of PDP.

In a letter dated July 8, 2015 and signed by National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo, PDP NWC asked Jalo to appear before it next Wednesday based on what it termed “unguarded utterances in some of Nigerian newspapers.”

The letter titled: ‘Zakari’s Appointment: Jalo Dissociates PDP from Mutuh’s Commentary,’ the NWC said its  attention “has been brought to your recent unguarded utterances in some of the national newspapers.

“The NWC has therefore requested you to appear at its meeting for preliminary investigation on the charge of bringing the party into disrepute among others.”

Professor Oladipo said the invitation was part of the resolution at the 404th of the NWC meeting of the party.
