Addressing a large number of APC members at the Warri country home of former member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the APC, Temi Harriman, Emami explained that his decision to defect to the APC along with his supporters was hinged on the philosophy of positive change and the need to galvanise the people of his constituency to work in line with the agenda of the Buhari/Osinbajo administration.

Emami, younger brother to the Akulagba of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami, who represents Akpakpa Ward 6, Ugborodo, in Warri South-West legislature, stressed his good working relationship with his constituents and fellow councillors, adding that after carefully analysing the issues that led to his elder brother, Chief Emami, dumping the PDP he built as a foundation member to the APC, it became imperative to pitch tent with the APC to liberate the people of his constituency and work towards genuine development of the local government.

Responding, the APC chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ighonmieyetan, said that with Emami’s membership of the APC, the chances of the party in the council will be brighter in future elections.

Expressing delight with Emami’s membership, Ighonmieyetan said that more heavy weights from other political parties were expected to join the APC in the days and months ahead.
