Wike Fires Rivers State Radio GM

The executive governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike has fired the General Manager of the state Broadcasting Corporation, Ms. Mediline Tador.


According to the statement signed by the Special adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, Wike appoints Mr. Sampson Febresima to take over with immediate effect, as the new GM of the Corporation.


 


Before his appointment, Febresima was the zonal Manager of Silverbird Television and Radio Port Harcourt until he resigned months ago.


The Rivers State government has not given any reason behind the sack of Ms Tador.


Tador has worked as the Commissioner for Information in the state, she was a former editor with the defunt Daily Times in Lagos.


The state Governor also appoint the new GM’s wife, Mrs Florence Fibresima as secretary of Judiciary Commission of Inquiry that in charge of investigating the former governor, Rotimi Amaechi.


Information gathered revealed that Sampson fiberisima stint in the Silverbird Radio and Television led to the growth of the broadcasting station in the region, which led to increase of its listeners in Rivers State and environs, though the reason why he resigned months ago was unknown.


However, he is expected to bring his experience to his new appointment which is fully owned by the state government.
