The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter has described a report credited to Chief Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi boasting of having numerous experts who specialize in the mathematics of upturning election results in the All progressives Congress, APC as coming from a warped and distorted mind.
Chiding the APC for anchoring its hope of the 2015 polls on rigging and cutting corners, the PDP through a statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to the State Party Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah said it has been vindicated for saying that the APC exists in the State only on Bill Boards as rightly pointed out by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Governor Amaechi’s COS shot himself in the leg Monday, September 29, 2014 during a rally in Obio/Akpor when he boasted that those who are experts in writing election results are all in the APC and describing PDP members as lacking in this art.
This is simply a certainty, the PDP insists, stressing that this has been the sole reason why the APC is directing all their energies and State resources to inciting crisis in the State in order to create room to rig the elections which of course, has failed before they start.
Believing in free and fair elections, the PDP said the APC has already lost because there will be no room to cut corners.
The Party also reaffirmed President Goodluck Jonathan’s confidence in reclaiming both Rivers and Edo States in 2015, arguing that Rivers has been a PDP State and will continue to be so.
According to the PDP, saying that Rivers is for the party in 2015, President Jonathan was only stating the obvious because the only thing standing between victory and the Party in the State is time.
The Party accused the APC of not working hard enough because it knows there is no need for them in order not to waste its energy and time.
The PDP commended President Jonathan for the message of hope to redeem the State from Governor Amaechi’s misrule
