River PDP debunks party involvement with Ogboni fraternity

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has referred to a publication over PDP connection with ogboni fraternity as ”malicious and libelous” sponsored by enemies of the party to disrepute the Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike.

According to a statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant, media to the Honourable Minister of Education. the publication was sponsored by political opponents.

The statement reads ”A sponsored media campaign to smear the image and hard earned reputation of the Minister of Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike has been uncovered.

”The media campaign which is in form of advertorials with pseudo names is alleging all manner of evil including membership of secret cults which members and leaders are only know to  these mischief makers.

”There is no gainsaying the fact that the sponsors and unseen hands of the malicious and libelous materials are political opponents and enemies of the PDP leader in Rivers State, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike.

”The object of these political cowards is no other but to deceive the unsuspecting members of the public and the highly informed Rivers people who have continued to prevail on the Minister of Education to make himself available for election for the office Governor of the State in 2015 which they know too well that if he accepts, will definitely win.

”Though not disturbed by this satanic plot borne out of fear of Barr Wike’s intimidating credentials and rising political profile as well as the lack of confidence in themselves to confront necessary and unavoidable challenge, we are most ready to take it up with anybody who may have taken it upon himself to go outside politics to attack the person and integrity of its leader in the name of politicking.

”As an avowed and devout Christian, the Hon Minister of Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike does not belong to any other group than the fellowship of Christian believers and wish to challenge these agents of ‘pull him down’, to be bold enough to disclose their identities and the proof of their concocted and baseless allegations.

”We however, enjoin the unsuspecting members of the public to discountenance such malicious publications and continue to support and pray for the PDP and its leaders for victory over tyranny, madness and kleptomania to steal and waste Rivers State resources in the name of politics while the reasonable majority of our people are dying in abject poverty as the only reason for the campaign against Chief Barr. Wike is to destroy his character ahead of 2015 election.”

NAIJA CENTER NEWS (NCN) has attempted to reach the Special Adviser, on Media to State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, Jerry Needam, who his boss was fully mentioned in the accusation, both on phone and electronic mail, requesting for his reaction on the ogboni fraternity accusation, but yielded no result.
