Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa state has boasted and described himself as the best governor in Nigeria in terms of delivering on campaign promises.
Lamido made the declaration during a Ramadan breakfast with party leaders at Dutse Government House.
He said, during his inaugural speech seven years ago, he presented a book which contains his vision, mission and hope for Jigawa state and its populace.
“Today, I am proud to say that I have not only accomplished but delivered all the campaign promises I made even with extra more in terms of developing Jigawa state and bringing dividend of democracy to my people.
“We have provided the best of roads, the best airport, best working environment for civil servants, best health care service, best education system, best judicial system, solid foundation for economic and infrastructural development, and above all we promote discipline, due process, rule of law patriotism and respect to human dignity among ourselves and our young generation.
“We made sure that we added value to everything and on everyone in Jigawa including my “detractors who have been fighting me tooth and nail to get relevance outside Jigawa.”
“I challenge anybody to judge my statement from the book I presented during my inaugural speech in 2007”, Lamido said
While commenting on who would possibly be his successor, Governor Lamido said, the next governor would be chosen based on merit, not based on his political affiliation or loyalty to him (dailytimes)
