The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has said  that he is afraid of high expectations of Nigerians

The General disclosed this while addressing journalists, Nigerians and international community in Chatham House in United Kingdom on Thursday.

“I am scared of high expectations, that’s what i am afraid of. People want change and the interesting thing about it is that it is across the country. I started my campaign from Bayelsa, the President’s state, through out south-south, sout-east, south-west, north central, and the three geo-political zone in the north. The crowd, you can’t say this is bigger than this one relating to the population of respective states. That’s what make the high expectation frightening, you can’t tell young people that there are no money or you can’t put their input into agriculture, mining or something that will absurd them initially or you can’t improve their schools especially tertiary institutions. We are thinking of quickly putting an experience competent team, as a sort of think tank on how we are going to deal with this problem, it is real and it’s coming.”

While responding to questions, Buhari disagreed to some speculations about Boko Haram attack in the North. He said 80 percent of Nigerians killed by Boko Haram are northerners. He added that even the Chibok girls abducted by the insurgents months ago are northerners.

Buhari also cleared the issue on whether he will Islamize Nigeria or not. He said that Sharia law has the same power as customary law andnd anyone who intends to change to Sharia law must change Nigeria constitution.

The General said security in Nigeria is a main priority as it has a lot to play in investment in Nigeria and other parts of the country well being. He said investors would want to get their money back and also make profit and if such is not guaranteed, they would not be interested.

Buhari who laughed over the question that he will investigate corrupt politicians from 1960, said if he was to go back to 1960, he may not be able to attend to his manifesto.

The APC candidate could not respond to the huge salary being earned by national assembly, he said some of the lawmakers were with him in the house, adding that he can’t comment on it as he does not know whether he will be tempted to touch or not if he is elected as the President.

Buhari in his speech seem to boycott the main question concerning his action if he loses the March 28 general election. It could be recalled that in 2011, many innocent Nigerians were killed by Buhari’s supporters after he lost the election to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians where outside Chatham House protesting against the General. Many of the Nigerians inerviewed could not explain why they were protesting against Buhari, but it could be recalled that Femi Fani-Kayode was accused of paying some Nigerians in the UK to protest against Buhari.

Many of the Nigerians interviewed could not explain why they were protesting against Buhari, some said they were supporting their president, Goodluck Jonathan, others said they don’t know what they were doing there, adding that they were told about the protest and decided to join.
