UGHELLI – A five man gang of suspected assassins on Wednesday night shot dead a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in cold blood at Ughelli, Delta State.

The victim, Chief Owei Brinimugha who hails from Bomadi council area of the state, was accosted by the hoodlums by Kess College junction along Iwhrekpokpor road, Ughelli at about 8:30pm.
According to eye witnesses at the scene of the incident, the gunmen shot the victim who is in his early 40s thrice on the head, chest and leg after shooting twice into the air to scare away passersby.
Giving further details on the incident, one of the witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity, hinted that four of the gunmen alighted from their car while a fifth gang member waited by the steering of their car.
The source also hinted that the hoodlums after confirming the death of their victim, made away with his Toyota car in company of their own car.
Efforts to speak with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu was fruitless as at the time of this report.
However, a senior police officer attached to the Ughelli ‘B’ Division confirmed the incident, adding that the police is on the trail of the suspected assassins.
No fewer than four persons have been reportedly injured after some armed youths allegedly invaded Iguogboe community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was learnt that the youths, said to have been armed with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, also destroyed valuables in the community.
It was gathered that ongoing building projects at two sites in the community were forced to a halt following the destruction of blocks and other building materials.
It was learnt that it took the intervention of a team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer of Ogida Police Division, Mr. Ajidahun Lawrence, to restore calm in the area.
Although, the exact cause of the attack could not be ascertained, it was gathered that there were several land disputes between Igbuogboe and Obagie communities awaiting court judgement.
The Odionwere of Iguogboe community Mr. J. E. Aghedo explained that he was in his garden when some persons suspected to be hoodlums stormed the area at about 3pm on Friday.
He said on sighting them with dangerous weapons, he ran to Ogida police station where he made a report on the incident.
Aghedo also alleged that there had been several attempts to annex his community.
But the Odionwere of Obagie community, Mr. Paul Otawowie, said that he was informed on the telephone that some youths from Iguogboe had attacked the youth secretariat in his community over a disputed piece of land in the area.
Otawowie, however, noted that the matter had been reported at a nearby police station.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations, Mr. Abiodun Osifo, were not successful.
But the DPO called on members of the warring communities to embrace peace, as the police would not condone acts capable of endangering lives and property.
He also urge the village heads to call their youths to order through meaningful dialogue.
An Evbouriaria Magistrates’ Court in Benin, Edo State, has sentenced one Joseph Nanchang, to three years imprisonment for stealing the sum of N300,000.
The presiding magistrate Mrs. C. E. Oghuma, sentenced the convict to a three -year jail terms on Friday with no option of fine.
Nanchang had been arraigned on two counts on conspiracy and stealing, to which he had pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Olatoye Oluwaseun, had told the court that the 20-year-old convict, along with others now at large, committed the crime on February 23, 2016.
Oluwaseun had explained that the convict stole the said amount from one Mrs. Victoria Owie at 18, Muritala Mohammed Way in Benin.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 48, Vol. II, Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria,1976, as applicable in Edo.
Just like Macbeth, in Shakespeare’s play of same name, murdered sleep and could no longer sleep, 22-year-old Ndifreke Joseph Clement, disturbed by sleepless nights and traumatic experiences after murdering his 23-year-old cousin, Ubong Edet, surrendered himself to police six months after the crime.

Clement, a native of Akon Itam, Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, who handed himself over to police at Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, said he slashed his cousin’s throat after beating him to coma because Edet slept with his girlfriend in August 2015.
He told Vanguard: “I cannot remember the exact date now, but it occurred in a night in August 2015 in the one room apartment we shared. On that day, I returned from work to meet the door locked.
“I knocked on the door and waited for over five minutes before my cousin could come to open the door. When I went into the room, I saw my girlfriend weeping and blood running from her nostrils.
“I asked her what happened and she said Ubong beat, wounded and forcefully had sex with her. But after opening the door for me, Ubong went away and did not come back until very late in the night.
‘We fought for a very long time’
“When I asked him why he did what he did to my girlfriend, he started punching me and I retaliated.
“We fought for a very long time before I could subdue him. I then picked my cow-butchering knife and cut his throat, carried his dead body and dumped it in the bush very close to the house and threw the knife into the pit toilet.
“I have brought myself to the police even when nobody knew that I killed him. I have come to plead for forgiveness because since I killed my cousin, I no longer have peace of mind. I am always disturbed in my mind and dream.”
The Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, said the suspect would be arraigned for the court to decide whether he had any right to take the life of another person.
A doctor has been accused of murdering her husband after a threesome with a teenager.
The doctor, Chamari Liyanage allegedly beat her husband, Dinendra Athukorala to death with a hammer out of fear that he would reveal that they were having sex with a 17-year-old, the Supreme Court of Western Australia was told in a hearing.
According to metro.co.uk, prosecutors have claimed Liyanage grew tired of her husband’s sexual demands.
The court heard how he would suggest the couple had sex with other women as well.
It got to a stage that she was no longer prepared to put up with his behaviour, prosecutor Nick Cogan has said.
The teenager told jurors she met the Sri Lankan pair at a dinner party in 2014 and had several encounters with them in their home.
She told the court how the couple waxed her legs.
They would give her gifts including a video camera. At one point Athukorala got down on one knee and begged she take the presents.
Police arrived on the scene in Geraldton after Liyanage made a call to an emergency number which she claims she can’t remember.
He was found lying on a mattress covered in blood which had splattered on walls and blinds.
When asked what happened, Liyanage said she didn’t know.
Liyanage pleaded not guilty to murdering her husband. The trial continues and is due to go on for a number of weeks.
LAGOS—police in Lagos State have arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly raping a mentally-challenged girl (names withheld).
It was learned that the suspect, Adesola Moses, who resides at Osenatuilo Street, Alagbado by AIT Road, reportedly raped the victim in her mother’s shop.
Vanguard gathered that the suspect took advantage of the victim’s mental health and had anal sex with her.
According to a family member who spoke to Vanguard, the victim’s mother, Muiynant Mustapha, left her 19-year-old daughter in her shop to attend a party, when the suspect sneaked into the shop, asked the girl to remove her clothes and raped her.
The relative said: “While the act was ongoing, a 10-year-old girl, Tunrayo, daughter of the landlord, who usually plays with the victim, saw them and ran out to alert people. By the time people got to the shop, the suspect had escaped.”
It was learned that in a bid to identify the suspect, the elders in the community gathered 12 young men in the area and Tunrayo was able to identify the suspect, who had changed his clothes to avoid recognition.
The case, which was initially reported at Alagbado, is currently being investigated at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Lagos.
On Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure yesterday sentenced to death by hanging two persons- Ita Enang and Olayemi Bamitale- for killing the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade.
Enang and Bamitale were domestic workers (gateman and driver), killed Ilemobade on June 21, last year, and dumped his remains in an empty stall in his compound at Ijapo,Akure.
They stole his Toyota Rav 4 and other items.
The don’s remains were later discovered by family members, a week later.
The criminals were arrested in Ogun State by policemen, while attempting to dispose off the stolen items.
They were later transferred to the Ondo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
The convicts were charged with conspiracy, robbery and murder by strangling.
The offence, according to the prosecution, was contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code.
The prosecution team, led by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs Adejoke Adeyemi-Tuki, called four witnesses and tendered several exhibits during the prosecution.
The charges read: “That you Daniel Ita Effiog and Olayemi Bamitale on June 21 2015 at about 9pm at No. 1 Ikere Street Ijapo Estate commit felony to wit: murder.
“That you Daniel Ita Effiog and Olayemi Bamitale on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did kill one Prof Albert Adeoye Ilemobade by jointly strangling him to death.
“That you Daniel Ita Effiog and Olayemi Bamitale on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did conspire together to commit felony to wit: robbery.
“That you Daniel Ita Effiog and Olayemi Bamitale on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did steal one late Prof Albert Adeoye Ilemobade’s Toyota Rav 4 2008 model with registration number Lagos GGE-589-CF value yet unknown and N7,000.”
However, in one of their previous arraignment, they denied killing him by pleading not guilty to the three-count charge preferred against them.
Justice Olamide Williams agreed that the prosecuting counsel had proven beyond doubt that the accused caused Ilemobade’s untimely death because of their selfishness.
Williams also found the two culprits guilty of conspiracy and robbery.
He frowned at the dastardly act, saying “it is a further revelation that today’s youths just want to be rich, regardless of the means”.
The judge said: “The accused were callous, wicked and inconsiderate when they decided to snuff life out of an elderly person over his property.
“Against this backdrop, the accused do not deserve the sympathy or mercy of this court.
“Law must take its course and this will serve as a deterrent to others. The accused are hereby sentenced to death by hanging. May God have mercy on your souls.”
Counsel to the accused Kazeem Hassan said his clients have the right to appeal.
The prosecuting counsel, Adesola Tuki, hailed the judgment.
UYO—An 18-year-old boy, Endurance Akpan, who allegedly killed his mother, Mrs. Lovina Akpan, in Idio Nung Iba village, in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom was one of those paraded in connection with murder by the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Uyo yesterday.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, Endurance reportedly killed his mother on arrival in his village from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he lives with his father.
She added that upon arrival, Endurance ,who is the last child of the eight children, headed straight to his mother room and tricked the woman out , “ he told her that he had something important to discuss with her. As they got to the room where Endurance had tricked her into, he (Endurance) tied his mother’s hands to her neck with a wrapper and strangulated her to death.
“After she died, he pulled her out of the room and took her close to a pit toilet within the compound and dumped her there and thereafter left for Port Harcourt, where he was arrested.”
Also paraded was a pastor of God’s Power City, Gideon Idio, who allegedly killed a female church member, Joanna Okon.
The pastor who resides at 14 Fine Face Street, Off Enen Afaha, Uyo, was said to had called the deceased ,his church member, Joanna Okon, to come over to his office.
The state Police spokesperson said on arrival that there was a scuffle between them, the cause they could not ascertain, she added that the issue degenerated to a point that the suspect attacked the deceased and she collapsed and died inside his office.
“The so-called pastor locked the deceased inside his office and used the deceased phone to call her close relation claiming to be a tricycle driver who picked up the girl from Udotung Ubo Street en route Itam where she slumped inside the tricycle and is being taken to an undisclosed hospital.
“As if that was not enough the suspect later at about 7p.m. informed the relations of the girl that he saw the corpse of the deceased at IBB Road, Uyo and has removed the corpse to his office, after which the suspect and relations of the deceased conveyed the corpse to a mortuary at Ibiono Ibom.” she said
Rivers Progressives Front (RPF), said despite its initial circumspection, it has continued to receive credible information that most of the violence and kidnappings bedevilling Rivers State since Barr. Nyesom Wike became governor were allegedly perpetrated by Wike’s men especially from the bulk of those he deployed for the rigging, maiming and killings that characterised the April sham elections in Rivers State.

The RPF in a statement signed by its spokesman, Elder Tamuno Iyalla said it is terribly concerned about the trend of things that has almost totally disorganised and dislocated social and economic life in Rivers State, adding that more worrying is the emerging pieces of evidence that the supporters of Gov. Wike were also those behind the heightened state of violence and insecurity in Rivers State.
The statement noted that on Thursday, 19th November, 2015 some persons by the names Goodluck Wogbo 27yrs; Charles Nwaoepi 28yrs; and Goodnews Kejeh, 28yrs, all males, were arrested by the Police at Ada-George Road with 3 AK-47 automatic rifles and 300 ammunition given to them (as per their own confession) by an official of Emohua Local Government by the name Mr. Wisdom, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Emohua LG Council, who is an ally/agent of Chief Emeka Woke, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to Gov. Nyesom Wike.
Continuing the RPF said, “as we make this gruesome development public in this press release, Gov. Nyesom Wike is putting pressure on the Police to release the suspects.”
The RPF called on the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Musa Kimo, to ensure that his men resist the pressure from Nyesom Wike and thoroughly investigate this matter and prosecute the suspects according to law.
RPF reminded the Commissioner of Police to realise that his reputation and office are being endangered by the activities of criminals who enjoy the support of Wike’s government officials.
“This is the time for the CP to bring to the knowledge of all Rivers people and Nigerians that the intractable violence and insecurity in Rivers State are all induced and sustained by the present Rivers State Government officials, directly and indirectly” the statement concluded.
Police in Delta State have recovered six children between the ages of one and five and two pregnant girls from an interstate child trafficking syndicate.
A man, Chidiebele Udeagba and his wife Nkiru Asouza along with four other collaborators in Akwa-Ibom and one in Onitsha, Anambra State have been arrested for the crime.
The state Commissioner of Police, Alkali Baba Usman who paraded the culprits and children at the police headquarters Asaba on Monday, advised parents, especially those from Akwa-Ibom and Cross River States whose children were stolen or are missing, to report to the state police command to check if any of their beloved ones are among the recovered children.
According to the police boss, the state anti robbery squad operatives immediately arrested Nkiru Asouza, following a tip off on the human and child trafficking syndicate cell in Asaba, who took them to Onitsha, where one Mary Okon was nabbed and the four children recovered.
The suspect was also said to have led the investigating team to Akwa-Ibom State, where Ekaete Sunday, Etieno Mary Bassey, Stella John and Esther Ezekiel were also arrested while the two pregnant girls were recovered from the suspects.
Usman said the suspects claimed that the two girls were directed to them after they were impregnated to enable them nurse the pregnancy with a view to selling the babies after delivery.
However, one of the pregnant girls and the six children has been handed over to the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs and one of them handed over to her parents.
The police also recovered two AK47 and one AK49 riffles, K2 riffle, 43 rounds of ammunition and Vento car with registration number AE681BKW from a daredevil three-man armed gang who have been terrorising Warri/Effurun and environs.
The gang according to Usman was attempting to carry out an armed robbery attack on the public when the police engaged them in a gun duel, killing them.
Meanwhile, two persons have been arrested at Aladja town, near Warri for removing parts of a dredger valued at N2 million, at a land beach. The security man meant to watch over the premises was reportedly tied down during the process of the attack. The police also recovered the sum of N419, 000 charms and two master keys from two hoodlums, who were trying to open a parked car along Airport road Warri.

OMOKU—UNIDENTIFIED gunmen have run amok in Rivers State, killing at least 15 persons at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, ONELGA, of the state in the last few weeks. The gory massacre has sent shivers down the spine of residents. The armed men, apparently seething with rage that over 200 cultists renounced cultism in the area, took aim at Omoku community lately, shooting sporadically and exterminating the lives of innocent people in all their three raids.

Niger Delta Voice gathered that, indeed, about 200 cultists, formerly of the Icelander Cult, terrorizing the area, openly repudiated their membership of the group at a Peace and Prayer programme organized by the ONELGA Youth Forum. The development restored hope to the people of the area, as many residents who relocated from the area returned when they heard about the wind of change blowing in the community.
Transient respite: However, the relief was temporal, as barely one week after the entreaty programme, the gunmen returned in full swing shattering the fragile peace enjoyed by the people for less than 30 days. The gangsters exterminated five persons that renounced cultism, penultimate Sunday, in Omoku town. They also invaded Omoruyi Street in the same community at about 9.00 pm and killed another five persons.
The Sunday incident raised palpable tension in Omoku town with people scampering to bed earlier than usual. A source told Niger Delta Voice that some of those who allegedly disowned cultism in the peace programme were not faithful to their promise.

A youth leader in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government, Mr. Bright Abali condemned the deliberate killings of the innocent people as a senseless murder.
Abali, one of the youths that organized the peace programme where the cultists purportedly repented, said the level of killings in the area, especially after over 200 cultists turned their back on cultism was affecting the community. He said: “Politics have come and gone we should not continue to carry dead bodies, we cannot continue like this. I call on these masked gunmen to sheath their sword. Let it not look as if they deceived us.”
Fresh strike: While citizens were bemoaning the Omuku invasion, cultists struck, last Wednesday, at Obrikom community, killing six persons. Sources said the cultists opened fire soon as they stormed the community and like Omoku episode, Obrikom villagers were currently moving out of the under attack town.
LG chair blames security agencies, peace organizers: Contacted, chair of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area, Mr. Austin Ahiamadu, blamed the security agencies over the killings, stressing that the security agencies refused to live up to expectation in securing lives and properties in the area

He also criticized the peace reconciliation rally held in the area by a group, stressing that it was wrong to organize such programme without involving the local government council. He disclosed that the council had organized a security and peace meeting with both the security agencies and community stakeholders to proffer solution to the root cause of the crisis.

Ahiamadu asserted, “The boys have not repented, if they had, why do they kill people, how will people who claim they have repented still be killing our people over nothing. “What they did was just a mere deceit, how would they organize a peace move without the knowledge of the local government,” he added.
Ahiamadu called on the state government and security agencies to re-double efforts in retuning normalcy, pointing out, “The situation is getting out of hand here.”

The chair of ONELGA Youth Forum, Kingsley Ogumike, took the local government boss to the cleaners, accusing him of leading the people from a promised land.
“How would he know what his happening here when he rules from outside the local government area, he will not know the efforts of the police because he is not around, we did our best and deserve commendation, we sent invitation to everyone, including him but he was not around to receive it. God knows where is ruling the local government from,” he said.
Police vow to fish out criminals
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kimo Musa, who confirmed the killings, said police were currently investigating the incidents.
Musa said that the police were on top of the situation and would unravel and bring the culprits to book. He enjoined the people of the area to go about their normal businesses and make available any useful to the police.

The suspect who is an upcoming actor and has acted about seven movies blamed his action on poverty and lack of roles in movies.
The suspect who is also recovering from an auto crash accident disclosed that his friend identified as Emmanuel gave him the idea when he approached him for financial assistance.
The same friend, he said, also introduced him to the two buyers, Nkechi Obi and Gladys Nwobodo from Port Harcourt to Owerri Imo State where the said transaction took place.
The actor, according to information gathered was exposed by his babymama who is currently pregnant for a second child and has been allegedly abandoned by the suspect in their rented flat in Lagos.
Kanayo approached his wife and convinced her to allow them use their son, Samuel Chukwuenye as a collateral to borrow money from a Port Harcourt based woman named as Nkechi Obi.
The Oyo State Police Command has discovered a place in a remote village of Ibadan, where thousands of fake pounds, euros, dollars and other foreign currencies were being produced.
Fake currency factory
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Katsina, said that the discovery was made by the command’s ambush squad in a village called Ojoku in Badeku, Ona-Ara Local Government Area of the state. The police described the area as fast transforming to an abode for criminals, having earlier served as a kidnappers’ den.
Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the crime on Monday, discovered that the police had cordoned off the compound shielded by tall trees and thick bushes
Two Toyota Camry cars with number plate AA 125 DK and AA 207 DH and a Nissan Almera lift back model with number plate AGL 882 DF were found in the compound, which was fenced with corrugated iron sheets.
Several notes of fake foreign currencies littered the ground.
Apart from being a fake currency factory, the place also served as a shrine where several criminal activities were perpetrated.
There are two houses in the compound with at least six rooms adorned with various statues to give the impression that the place is being used as a shrine. The walls were decorated with the group’s description of gods to scare victims.
Ismail Adesina, 43, who was arrested at the scene, said he did not know anything about the currencies and that the owners had escaped.
He said he was a herbalist and that he had been involved in several financial crimes under the pretext of helping victims to cure ailments and barrenness.
Adesina added that the owners of the three vehicles were canvassers who combed the town to woo customers.
He said, “I am a herbalist and I inherited the skill from my father. I am also a conman. I cured diabetes, barrenness, blindness and other ailments. I have cured many people. My partner, who escaped yesterday, knows how the currencies were produced. Taju and Wasiu are my other partners. We have been here for about four years. We collected varying sums of money from our victims but we do not kidnap people. We bought the land in the bush and built the houses. I am a native of Beyerunka in Ibadan. The names of our victims are with my partners.”
Adesina said his wife had left him and taken his child away because he could not provide for them.
He added that he had bought a car from the proceeds of criminal activities but had to sell it. Asked if his father also taught him how to swindle people through fake healing, Adesina said that he was a genuine herbalist before he took to the crime.
The police said apart from taken money from their victims, the suspects also devised a way of gagging them by taking their nude pictures and threaten to release them if they failed to keep the secret.
Gunmen on Monday kidnapped a Kogi High Court Judge, Mr Justice Samuel Obayomi, and killed his orderly, Cpl. Usman Musa in an early morning attack. Obayomi of the Ebogogo High Court in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi was kidnapped while on his way to work.
His driver, Mr Ajayi Kolawole, told newsmen in Lokoja that the incident took place in front of the Executive Guest Villa at Okene GRA in the Okene Local Government Area of the state.
Kolawole said that the judge’s orderly, Musa was shot dead on the spot by the kidnappers in an operation that took place between 8:40 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. He described the three gunmen as heavily armed, unmasked and wearing dark glasses. The driver said the gunmen ordered the judge and his aides to lie face-down.
Kolawole said that the kidnappers opened fire on the orderly killing him on the spot. The judge had recently survived a ghastly accident and had just resumed work after three months in hospital. The Police Area Commander at Okene, Mr Kehinde Kolawole, said the driver had been detained to help in police investigations.
The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah, who visited Obayomi’s family, told his wife to let him know as soon as the kidnappers made contact. Ajanah promised that effort would be made to ensure the release of Obayomi.
The Police in Bayelsa State have launched a manhunt for an unidentified driver of a Nissan Sport Utility Vehicle over alleged killing of a man and absconding with the corpse along the Ogbogoro community road in Yenagoa local government area of the state.
The hit-and-run incident, which occurred Tuesday at about 7pm along the Ogbogoro-Famgbe road, was said to have caused pandemonium in the area.
Vanguard learnt that the manhunt is by the Azikoro Divisional Command.
Though the prompt response of a team of police special Op’s on patrol in the area, according to an eyewitness led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, “the owner drove away amid a crowd of sympathizers.”
The deceased, aged 34, was taking a walk along the Ogbogoro road when he was hit from behind.
A jealous policeman has taken his own life after killing his lover and a colleague over alleged cheating.
The lady, who sold GSM recharge cards, was said to be double-dating the two policemen.
Investigations showed that the tragic incident took place at the popular CBN Junction in Karu, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday.
The killer cop, a sergeant, was said to be the primary lover of the deceased lady.
However, his colleague working with him on the same police patrol team, also started dating the lady without his knowledge.
Sources, however, told Saturday PUNCH that the bubble burst when the sergeant got wind of the development and went to confront his girlfriend.

As onlookers tried to come to terms with the unfolding incident, the sergeant again shot his colleague dead.
Having certified that the two were dead, he reportedly turned the the gun on himself.
An eyewitness, Mr. Bature Iliya, who said he was using the Automated Teller Machine of a commercial bank just across the road when the incident occurred, told Saturday PUNCH that he still could not believe what he saw.
He said, “They were shouting and arguing. The sergeant was visibly angry, telling the lady why she had to treat him that way.
“The other policeman was a Corporal. He was standing there as the two argued. Suddenly, he shot the lady, then killed the colleague. Within seconds, he also shot himself dead. It was like a scene from a movie.”
Crowds still gathered at the scene on Friday, discussing the incident. Some wondered why someone would take lives because a lady cheated on him.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah could not be reached for comment as he didn’t respond to calls to his phone. He also did not respond to a text message sent to him.
Jeffery Okafor, who stabbed a CBBC actor to death outside a nightclub in central London has been found guilty of murder.

Okafor, a Nigerian attacked Carl Beatson Asiedu in Vauxhall in August 2009 when a late-night row escalated into violence. The court was told he confessed to his girlfriend before fleeing to Nigeria using his brother’s passport.
Beatson Asiedu, who appeared in the CBBC series M.I. High, was also a part-time DJ known as DJ Charmz.
DNA found on gloves
On the night he was killed he was with friends and had performed a set at the Club Life nightclub near Vauxhall station. Outside the club he and his friends were approached by a larger group of men, which included Okafor, and an argument broke out.
The court heard it was at this time the DJ became separated from his friends and was stabbed by Okafor, 24.
A post-mortem examination concluded the cause of Mr Beatson Asiedu’s death was a single stab wound to the front of the chest.
Sarah Whitehouse QC, prosecuting, told Woolwich Crown Court: “After the attack, Jeffrey Okafor actually confessed to a girlfriend that he had stabbed Carl Beatson.”
Okafor confessed in a phone call within an hour of the attack and days later he told the same woman that he had stabbed the DJ in the stomach.
She said he gave her a pair of black gloves to look after which were later passed to police.
DNA which may have come from the victim was found on one of the gloves.
The prosecution said four days later Okafor boarded a flight from Heathrow Airport to Lagos using his brother’s passport.
He was extradited from Nigeria in November.
Okafor, of East Dulwich, south-east London, is due to be sentenced on Friday.
The presiding magistrate Mrs. C. E. Oghuma, sentenced the convict to a three -year jail terms on Friday with no option of fine.
