Rivers State: Our members not decamping to PDP - APC

…Ignore Obuah and Needam’s propaganda

By Nwaorgu Faustinus

The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, said its attention has been drawn to a spate of crass propaganda being churned out from the charlatanic stable of the PDP Chairman in Rivers state, Bro Felix Obuah and his media assistant, Jerry Needam falsely claiming that APC members are set to decamp to the PDP in Rivers State.

The APC in a statement said it was not surprised at the level of puerile lies being thrown into public space by a bunch of fellows who are yet to understand that the propaganda train has since left the primitive station where they sadly find themselves languishing.

“The most important reason why no APC member will ever join the PDP in Rivers State remains that the leadership of the PDP have blood on their hands. To dine and drink with such characters, no matter the compelling reasons, will amount to sharing in the toga of guilt that is still hanging on their necks. PDP leaders know this” the party stressed.

The statement reads: “Another reason no genuine member of APC will join the PDP is that APC members do not worship money or ready to dine with the devil irrespective of how long the spoon may be. It is important to remind the PDP that APC remains the party in power at the federal level and that is instructive.

“Again, it is pertinent to sound a reminder to the PDP that it is adherence to principles and values that led to the mass movement of our members into the APC in the first place and we still uphold and cherish those principles and values. We will never trade them away for a pot of porridge.

“The PDP should start cracking their brains on how to carry along the insatiable and greedy bunch in their fold. We are convinced that with Abuja beyond the reach of Rivers PDP, it is only a matter of time before the bubble bursts. A fight over the spoil of office by the PDP in Rivers State is a waiting time bomb. It is not whether or how the cookie will crumble, it is when it will crumble. Therefore, APC members are quite aware that the State resources will be unable to cater for the obscenely insatiable appetite of the characters in the PDP fold and therefore will never consider joining the PDP for any reason. That will amount to moving from hope to hopelessness.

“The APC has also observed that Bro Felix Obuah, through his media assistant Jerry Needam, released a statement accusing the 2015 Governorship Candidate of the APC in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside of making inciting statement at an APC stakeholders’ meeting last Saturday. This accusation flies in the face as Dr. Dakuku Peterside does not engage in use of incendiary language and this is evident in his statement reacting to the Supreme Court judgment of last Wednesday. Felix Obuah and Jerry Needam were probably sleepwalking at the time they made their unfounded allegations. If they have properly woken up then they may seek for the statement made by Dr. Dakuku Peterside at the said meeting.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the APC wishes to state that Dr. Dakuku Peterside shows comportment, grasp and decency in his choice of words at all times. Felix Obuah should know that those who spew inciting words dwell in his party.

“The APC is aware that the PDP Chairman and his media assistant enjoy engaging in tale-by-moonlight propaganda that belongs to the 18th Century. We wish them good luck in their journey back to the Stone Age.”

Rivers PDP Alarmed Over Plot To Kill Its Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP says it’s shocked to learn of the grand plot by certain desperate politicians in the State to eliminate its chairman, Bro Felix Obuah.

Describing the plot as callous and barbaric, the PDP through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam to the hunted State PDP chairman said the All Progressives Congress, APC by this strange and subterranean move has added a new dangerous dimension to party politics in the State.

The statement warned that violence in whatever form remains an ill-wind that blows no one any good and must be discarded for the sake of greater number of innocent Rivers people and other Nigerians and nationals living in the State.

Politics and by extension, democracy the PDP observed, will cease to be the best form of government if it’s not devoid of bitterness and blood-letting.

“It’s therefore on this note, that the Nigerian government and indeed, all well meaning Nigerians should not turn their eyes the other way over the shocking plot by the APC chieftains in Rivers State to incite crisis in some parts of the State as the re-run State and National Assembly elections approach, and using same as a smoke-screen to pick on those designated for elimination including our State chairman, Felix Obuah”, the party warned.

The PDP however commended the boldness of the Omoku Development Initiative for uncovering and raising alarm over the sinister plot by the APC in the State, stressing that any attempt to make real this plot will not augur well for the State.

Everybody while being watchful and alert to such plots by the APC should freely go about their businesses without any fear of unnecessary attack because this State belongs to all of us, the PDP advised.

PDP Dismisses APC’s Allegations Against Gov Wike As Spurious, Malicious

The chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah says the deliberate refusal of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the State to acknowledge the impressive performance of Governor Nyesom Wike is not only selfish and ungrateful but also shows the APC never meant well for the State in the first instance.

Nyesom Wike
Nyesom Wike

Stating that political opposition is far from outright lies and  fabrications aimed at deceiving the people and inciting crisis, the State PDP chairman through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam accused the APC of evolving and strengthening politics of bitterness and ‘pull-him’ down syndrome in the State which he said undermine progress and development.

Taking exception to the many lies of the APC which it dished out recently to the press through its State chairman, Davies Ikanya, the State PDP boss, observed that the unnecessary characterization and unfair prejudices against the Governor Wike administration were informed by petty jealousy and want of what to do to castigate a purposeful and visionary leadership that has achieved in less than six months what the APC government could not do in four years, under Amaechi.

Describing ingratitude as the worst of all human frailties, Bro Obuah advised that for both Mr. Ikanya as a person and the APC to make substantial progress in life, they must learn to tow the path of truth as the only virtue that can set one free.

According to Obuah, the State has never had it so good as Gov Wike has been able to prudently and frugally channeled the little resources that have accrued the State since his assumption of office to meaningful projects which find expression in the good road network in Port Harcourt, the State capital and other parts of the State, stressing that while most of these roads have been completed, others are at various stages of completion.

The State PDP chairman also noted that it is common knowledge that it’s Gov Wike’s timely intervention that saved hundreds of students of Rivers origin on RSSDA scholarship overseas who were at the verge of repatriation because of former Governor Amaechi’s failure to pay their fees and upkeep allowances for over 2 years.

“But turning around to allege that it’s Gov Wike that was the cause of the students’ predicament is not only passing the buck to save the shameful act of its failed leader, Amaechi, but also a wicked conception that can only come from an evil and unappreciative mind,” Bro Obuah stressed, also adding that there is no iota of truth in the allegation that the Wike administration is discriminating against non-student indigenes studying in tertiary institutions in the State.

This, the State PDP chairman said, was to score a cheap political point as Gov Wike is too busy to meddle into the administration of high institutions in the State that have their heads and administrators well qualified to handle such matters.

On the allegation of planning to obtain another N10 billion loan by Gov Nyesom Wike, he said His Excellency had never applied for any loan other than the ones legally and legitimately approved by the State House of Assembly which were necessitated by the wrecking of the State treasury by the Amaechi-led government.

Bro Obuah, however, wondered why the APC has just realized that to obtain a loan is to mortgage the State when former Gov Amaechi made borrowing a routine affair despite the huge resources and federal allocations at his disposal yet the APC never uttered a word.

Shut Up Your Mouth, PDP Tells Dakuku

…Says His Grief Is That Of A Bad Loser

The Chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah says it’s surprised that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate in the April 2015 general elections, Dakuku Peter is still unable to come to terms with himself after losing to a more qualified and popular PDP candidate, and State Governor, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike, describing his allegation of mortgaging the State against Governor Wike as the outburst of an aggrieved loser.

Hon. Dakuku Peterside
Hon. Dakuku Peterside

The PDP State chairman through a press statement by his special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam said if Mr. Dakuku Peterside had meant well for the State, he would happily join other well meaning Rivers people to thank God for Governor Wike’s vision and laudable achievements in only five months in office.

But rather than conceding to a better choice and more creative leadership, Bro Obuah noted, the failed APC governorship flagbearer had continued to dish out outright falsehood, blackmail and malicious information aimed at causing disaffection between the people and the State Government under Wike’s command.

According to the State PDP boss, Mr Dakuku Peterside by not being appreciative and for failing to acknowledge Gov Wike’s superiority for doing just in five months what he, and his benefactor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi could not do in four years he (Dakuku) served as Commissioner for Works, portrays him as an ingrate he is, and should rather hide his head in shame.

For avoidance of any doubts about the obvious difference between the Wike administration and the Amaechi administration which Dakuku Peterside was to perpetuate if he was elected as Governor but God forbid, Prince Obuah has challenged the lamenting Peterside to drive round the Port Harcourt metropolise and see if he could still recognize those roads and streets that were impossible for him and his boss, Amaechi to fix for eight years.

Not seeing and acknowledging the marked difference, the State PDP chairman stressed, is simply being blind and naive on the part of Dakuku Peterside.

Outlining other landmarks of Governor Wike for which Mr Dakuku Peterside should forever respect and thank Gov Wike, include the clearing of backlog of arrears of Civil Servants’ salaries and pensions, incurred by Amaechi and reactivation of none-functional schools scattered across the State by Chibuike Amaechi without teachers and basic facilities.

On the disbandment of the State Traffic Management Agency (TIMARIV), Bro Obuah said it was necessitated by the burden it was turned into by Amaechi’s failure to pay them regularly, which accumulated to over eight months of salary arrears which in turn forced most of the staff to metamorphose to mere touts and extortionists in order to make ends meet.

He insisted that the State is now better managed and secure under Gov Wike who has demonstrated enough will through his support and donations to the security agencies in the State, the result of which criminalities across the State have relatively reduced.

The State PDP chairman is convinced that the State of insecurity both in the management of the economy, the fictitious bank loans alleged by  Mr Dakuku Peterside and threat to lives and property only exists in the mind of the APC failed governorship candidate which possibly is a sign of going berserk.
