The delegation led by Egbema 1 also had in attendance General Pere and 52 other ex Generals.

Receiving them at his campaign headquarters in Benin City, Chief Edebiri assured them of an all inclusive government noting that whatever he is today was as a result of his business activities within the Niger Delta region particularly the Ijaw enclave. He promised to watch out for their interest and urged them to be law abiding citizens in their quest for a better society. He informed them that this is the time for true democratic agitation for the Change we want unlike what currently obtains. He urged them to carry out this agitation in civil manner by massively mobillising their communities.

In a vote of thanks, Mr Odion Omokhudu Ag. Director Media and Publicity ISE 2016 assured the visitors that Chief Edebiri being a man of his words will honour every agreement reached and futher advised for massive grass root mobilisation for Chief Edebiri. He expressed confidence in Chief Edebiri picking the PDP’s nomination ticket because the recent PDP sensitization rallies across the State revealed Chief Edebiri’s grassroot support and in most cases more support than aspirants even in L.G.As of contesting other aspirants.

Speaking with NAIJA CENTER NEWS, General Tom Ben who was one of those who endorsed Chief Edebiri gave the reasons why they found him worthy of Osadebe Avenue. According to the Gen. “He has not had a federal government or state appointment appointment, he has been in his business and he is doing well.

He is a philanthropist and the coastal areas in Edo State is carefully taken care of by him. He is very accommodating.

“Edebiri is the person that came out and really woo up. If you really want to ask for help you go to the person and asked. I don’t know what’s wrong with the rest, i don’t know if it is pride or not, this man (Edebiri) came, solicited for our support, someone who came to ask for our help, who is down to earth, the pedigree to de-tribalise the area is who we will support.

“We have to develop a template on how to develop Egelege seaport. We pray he uses his tenure to help with modular refinery. We need the governor that will go to the central level and tell them that this is the people that are producing the oil.

“He is a philanthropist, despite he has not touched many but we see the things he do. So we make sure we put someone who understand the area and help, so we are ready to partner with him. All the five clown of Ijaw area are ready to come out and work with him.
