IGP warns Amaechi, Oyegun, Others to take their angers to court

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Suleiman Abba has warned the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and other political leaders to take their campaigns to the electorate, rathern than engage distrupting government activities and daily chores of Nigerians engaged in the pursuit of their lawful businesses.

This was contained in a statement published on the official website of the force on Wednesday, monitored by NAJA CENTER NEWS after Governor Amaechi led a protest in Abuja.


Rotimi Amaechi, National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Chief Odiegie Oyegun barricaded the Entrance Gates of the Nigeria police Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday morning.


Reacting to the action of the politicians, the IGP urges members of the political class and their fllowers who have grievances to seek redress in the court of law instead of disturbing the peace of the innocent, law abiding citizens.

IGP added that the incident was provocative and uncivilised but the Police exhibited maximum restraint in the face of ceaseless provocation by the APC leaders and their botley crowd without confrontation.
