A former commissioner of police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav yesterday lambasted the ruling (PDP and federal government for misusing the police against the opposition members of the National Assembly, saying the action is capable of very soon breaking up the country.
Tsav who stated this yesterday in an interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend noted that anarchy is looming hence the inability of the federal government and PDP to properly tackle the security and political instability challenges faced by the nation.
According to him, it is as a result of the such executive recklessness that the clamour for state police is becoming louder, describing the show of shame exhibited at the National Assembly as not only disgraceful but barbaric.
He posited that the entire breach of law and order which was propelled by the police does not only show desperation but further indicate immaturity and intolerance of the PDP government for the states and country.
“The misuse of police is shameful. Aminu Tambuwal is still the Speaker; he only defected to APC but has not been removed by the House. No one therefore has the right to stop him from entering and presiding over the proceedings in the House. Nigeria police are being misused as thugs to breach the laws of Nigeria. This is barbaric and an act of gangsterism and disrespect to national institutions to tear gas members of the legislature. The misuse of the police by the PDP and federal government will definitely break up Nigeria and usher in anarchy.” Tsav stated.
